Extreme Control Kiteboarding School Tulum is thinking to organizing an IKO Istructor Course in the end of April begin of May in Tulum, Riviera Maya, Mexico. The ITC will be in English and it will cost around 600 to 800 usd depending of the number of participant they have.

Organizing an IKO Water Instructor Training Course (ITC) or Instructor Equivalency Course (IEC) ITC Requirements :
A maximum of 8 ITC Candidates are allowed per ITC, or 10 Candidates if at least 2 are IEC Candidates. The prerequisites are as follows:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Be a certified IKO kiteboarder Level 3 for at least 1 year or demonstrate advanced riding skills. • Have a valid first aid and CPR certificate or we can organize one here during the ITC
• Have an IKO Assistant Instructor certification or provide evidence of or a letter of recommendation from teaching experience in a water or aerial sport, if you do not have it we offer a 10 day training course here in Tulum with us.
• Have powerboat piloting skills, including rescuing
• Must be able to read and write and swim.
For PASA, BKSA, FAV, & FEV Instructors:
• Provide a copy of their Instructor diploma
• Provide a copy of a valid first aid and CPR certificate
• Provide a copy of their boat license, if required in his/her working country
• A letter of recommendation and a justification of 1 year of teaching experience
For IKO Snowkite Instructors seeking dual water certification:
• Be a valid (membership active) IKO Instructor Level 1 or higher
• Have a valid first aid and CPR certificate
• Be a certified IKO Kiteboarder Level 3 N minimum
For expired IKO Instructors seeking reactivation:
• Be an IKO Instructor Level 1 or higher
• Have a valid first aid and CPR certificate
• ITC: 5 days, or 6 days if First Aid / CPR course is scheduled (usually the day before the ITC starts). An additional day might be added at the beginning or end of the ITC for the powerboat modules (if the Candidates fail the powerboat rescue module)
What does the IKO Instructor Fee include? 200 usd ITC:

− 5 IKO Kiteboarder Cards and Online Feedback Credits
− 1 Kiteboarding Zone Small Water Sticker
− 1 Instructor Army Tag
− 1 Pro Card (sent by IKO to Candidates after validation)
− 1 IKO Level 1 diploma
• 2-year IKO membership
• Level 2 fee (to pass the online level 2 exam)
The Candidate cancels his or her participation: if the Candidate cancels within 1 month of the ITC or IEC, the Organizer does not reimburse his/her deposit. If s/he cancels more than 1 month before the ITC or IEC, the Organizer will refund his/her deposit (minus any administrative charges).
